Which robot parts can be 3D printed?
Most of the custom, low-volume parts on a robot: anything that holds, guides, protects or touches. Metal drive parts and high-load structure usually stay machined.
Gripper & end-effector fingers
Rigid PETG fingers and adapters, and soft TPU 95A fin-ray style fingers and pads for delicate or irregular items.
Camera & sensor housings
Housings, hoods and mounts sized to your camera, lidar or sensor and your mounting pattern.
Brackets & covers
Brackets, plates, spacers and covers. PETG today; ASA and CF-nylon on request.
Cable management
Guides, clips, grommets and strain reliefs that fit your arm, gantry or chassis.
Cell jigs & fixtures
Nests, locators, part holders and tool rests for robot cells.
Field spares
Covers, guards, clips and fingers reprinted from your file whenever you need more.
The drawings show part types. They are illustrations, not customer projects.
Which material should a robot part be printed in?
Pick by what the part has to survive. Tell us the load, heat and what it touches and we recommend one.
| Material | Good for | Status |
|---|---|---|
| PETG | Brackets, housings, covers, rigid fingers. Softens around 69–71 °C. | Printing today |
| TPU 95A | Soft fingers, pads, bumpers, grommets. | Printing today |
| PLA | Fit-check prototypes and indoor jigs. Softens around 57 °C. | Printing today |
| ASA / ABS | Outdoor parts: ASA for UV and weather. | On request |
| CF-nylon (PAHT-CF) | Stiff, heat-resistant structure and end-effectors. | On request |
| Resin (Formlabs Form 4) | Small, fine-detail parts. | Coming soon, not available yet |
| SLS / MJF nylon, metal | End-use nylon and metal parts. | Via our partner network |
How accurate are 3D-printed robot parts?
Plan on about ±0.2–0.3 mm on most FDM features. Holes and slots print slightly undersize, so for bearings, press fits, pins and mating parts we design in the clearance or print a fit-test piece first. Big or complex parts get a manual check before we quote, and large parts can be designed to split and join.
How much do 3D-printed robot parts cost?
Priced by estimated material weight on our instant quote, from A$8 a job. We confirm the full price before printing.
| Part weight | Rate |
|---|---|
| Up to 100 g | A$0.15 / g |
| 100 – 300 g | A$0.18 / g |
| Over 300 g | A$0.22 / g |
| Instant-quote minimum | A$8 |
Worked examples
- 100 g part: about A$15
- 200 g part: about A$33
- 300 g part: about A$51
- Materials marked "on request", design work and business jobs are quoted per job. A business minimum may apply.
