Adaptive soft gripper finger kit (fin-ray style, TPU)

Fin-ray style compliant fingers that bend around the object when they close on it, so eggs, fruit and bottles are held without crushing. FAQ

Common questions

What is a fin-ray style gripper finger?

It is a soft finger made of two thin walls joined by tilted ribs. When the contact face presses on an object, the tip bends towards it, so the finger wraps around the shape instead of pinching it. That makes it good for eggs, fruit and other delicate or irregular items.

Which size do I need?

Pick by object diameter: egg size for 40-55 mm, fruit size for 60-85 mm, bottle size for bottles, cans and jars 55-95 mm across. A gripper uses two fingers, so they are sold in pairs. Custom lengths for other object sizes are A$30 extra, one-off.

How do the fingers mount?

All three sizes share one mount: 2 x M3 at 10 mm pitch, counterbored from the contact face, for a jaw plate up to 12 mm thick. Screws are not included; use M3 socket-cap screws 25-35 mm long.

Can you make them softer or stiffer?

Yes. The standard set is TPU 95A. An 85A grade is A$10 extra per pair, and 70A-class is available on request. Softer grades are printed with thicker walls so they keep a similar grip.
