Easy-grip handle sleeve for cutlery, pens and toothbrushes, plus a key turner lever

Two everyday comfort aids. The handle sleeve is a 100 mm soft TPU barrel with finger flutes and eight flexible fins inside that fold around whatever you push in, so one sleeve fits round or flat handles from about 5 to 15 mm across (standard) or 5 to 19 mm (large): spoons, forks, pens, pencils, toothbrushes and craft tools. The key turner is a chamfered 95 mm PETG lever: the key bow slides into a slot and one M3 screw through the key's ring hole holds it, giving far more leverage than a bare key. Comfort aids, not medical devices. Printed to order in our Melbourne workshop; a free test slice of the sleeve comes with the first order.

Order status. These are everyday comfort aids, not medical devices, and we make no therapeutic claims. The sleeve's size range comes from the foam built-up-handle tubing market rather than measured cutlery, which is why it uses bending fins and why the free test slice comes first.

What does it look like in use?

Renders are computer images of our own design, made from the same model we print. This family is made to order: real photos of our first prints are coming.

Anyone who finds thin handles or small keys hard to hold or turn, carers buying for a family member, and occupational therapists ordering for clients (we make the parts; we make no claims about outcomes).

Safety & use

Installation & use. Designed for the uses described on this page only. Fixings are not included: use the sizes listed, check they are tight before use, and check the parts regularly for wear or damage. Not for safety-critical or overhead load-bearing use. Damage caused by misuse, modification or overloading isn't a fault in the product.

Comfort aid, not a medical device. These parts make handles thicker and keys easier to turn. They are not designed to treat, relieve or manage any condition, and we make no therapeutic claims. If you need advice about aids for a health condition, ask a health professional.

Food and hygiene. The sleeve fits the handle only, never the part that goes in the mouth. TPU is not a certified food-contact material. Hand-wash in warm soapy water (no dishwasher), and replace the sleeve if it splits. Small parts: keep away from young children.

FAQ

Common questions

What handles does the sleeve fit?

Round or flat handles from about 5 to 15 mm across (standard sleeve) or 5 to 19 mm (large): most spoons, forks, pens, pencils, toothbrushes and small craft tools. The eight internal fins fold around the handle as you push it in, so there is no exact size to match. The free 20 mm test slice lets you try it on your own handles first.

How does the key turner hold the key?

The key bow slides into a 3.2 mm slot and one M3 screw (not included) goes through the key's ring hole and through a slotted hole in the lever, which takes ring holes 11-19 mm from the bow edge. The screw carries the turning force and pinches the slot walls onto the bow. Keys up to 3 mm thick and 30 mm wide fit.

Is it a medical device?

No. These are everyday living aids, regulated as ordinary consumer products in Australia. We make no claims that they treat or relieve any condition. If you are choosing aids for a health condition, talk to a health professional.

Can I put the sleeve in the dishwasher?

No. Hand-wash it in warm soapy water; dishwasher heat distorts TPU. It fits the handle only, never the eating end, and should be replaced if it splits.

Softer or firmer?

Standard is TPU 90A. 85A is softer and available on request; the test slice is the easy way to choose.
