1/24 micro-crawler parts: LED bumper, low-CG battery tray and magnetic body mounts (fits Axial SCX24)

Three small upgrades for 1/24 micro-crawlers. The stubby bumper slides its two tongues into the stock front bumper-mount slots and carries two reflector buckets for standard 3 mm LEDs plus a recovery slot for a strap hook. The battery tray sits between the frame rails, flush with the rail tops, so a 2S 350 mAh pack hangs 6 mm lower than on a deck tray. The magnetic body mounts replace the body posts with pinned bars holding 6 x 3 mm disc magnets, with matching cups glued under the shell, so the body goes on and off without clips. Fits the Axial SCX24; because the maker publishes no chassis drawings, every chassis interface comes with a free three-step fit coupon. Printed to order in PETG in our Melbourne workshop.

Black 3D printed micro-crawler parts: a slotted battery tray, a stubby front bumper with two round LED buckets, two pinned magnet bars and four small magnet cups
Studio render: made to order, real photos coming: battery tray, LED bumper, two magnet body-mount bars and four body cups, in black PETG.

Order status. Order minimum applies: the whole kit prints for under the A$8 minimum, so one kit or several ship for the same minimum plus postage. The chassis interfaces are measured from public parts, not a maker drawing: the free coupons check the three pitches, the tray width and the pin size on your truck before the final print.

What does it look like in use?

Renders are computer images of our own design, made from the same model we print. This family is made to order: real photos of our first prints are coming.

Safety & use

Installation & use. Designed for the uses described on this page only. Fixings are not included: use the sizes listed, check they are tight before use, and check the parts regularly for wear or damage. Not for safety-critical or overhead load-bearing use. Damage caused by misuse, modification or overloading isn't a fault in the product.

Hobby part, not a toy. Not for children under 14: small parts, and loose magnets if fitted. Keep loose magnets away from children and pets; if swallowed, get medical help at once. Do not over-tighten screws into printed plastic.

Batteries. Follow the pack maker's charging and storage rules. Never let the strap or tray crush, bend or puncture a LiPo pack, and stop using any pack that is swollen or damaged.

This doesn't affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

FAQ

Common questions

Will the bumper fit my SCX24?

The tongues are 4.6 x 2.4 mm at 32.2 mm pitch, the median of the public SCX24 bumpers we measured, but the pitch varies between versions (30 to 33.5 mm). That is why the free coupon set has three pitches: drop each into the stock mount, see which lines up with the screw holes, and we print your bumper at that pitch.

Which battery packs fit the tray?

Standard 2S 350 mAh packs of about 56 x 28 x 13 mm. The pocket is 29.4 x 57 mm with a lead notch in the rear wall and four slots for a 10 mm hook-and-loop strap. The tray sits flush with the rail tops so the pack hangs 6 mm lower than a deck tray.

How do the magnetic body mounts work?

Each bar has two 2.6 mm pins at 32 mm pitch that drop into the stock body-post holders, and two pockets for 6 x 3 mm disc magnets. The four cups hold the matching magnets and are glued under the body shell. Eight magnets and CA glue are not included. The pin coupon lets you pick a snug pin size before the final print.

Which LEDs fit the bumper?

Standard 3 mm (T-1) LEDs. They go in from the back and stop on their flange; the coupon has 3.0 / 3.1 / 3.2 mm test bores so you can check your LEDs. Wiring and resistors are your own.

Why is everything A$8?

Each part is a few grams of PETG and prints in minutes, so the instant-quote price lands on our A$8 order minimum. One kit or a few kits in one order all share that minimum; we quote bulk and club orders per job.
