Outdoor LoRa mesh node case, board versions: fits Heltec V4, RAK19007 and LilyGO T-Beam (solar lid + pole bracket)

Three board versions of our outdoor LoRa mesh node case, for nodes running Meshtastic-compatible or MeshCore firmware. Each is a sealed-style ASA box with a flat lid on a face O-ring, an SMA bulkhead port for the antenna, a PG7 gland port for the solar or sensor cable, a lid frame that holds a small solar panel, and a V-block bracket for a 20-50 mm pole or a wall. The Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 (V4) version has a snap-in cradle and an 18650 holder bay; the RAK WisBlock Base RAK19007 version screws the board to four standoffs on its official hole positions, with the same holder bay; the LilyGO T-Beam version is a longer box with 22 mm standoffs so the board's own 18650 holder hangs underneath. Board positions come from the makers' published drawings. Printed to order in our Melbourne workshop.

Three black 3D printed node cases: a long closed case with a blue solar panel in its lid frame, and two open boxes with plain green board stand-ins inside
Studio render: made to order, real photos coming: the T-Beam case with a panel in the lid frame (left), the Heltec V4 box with its snap-in cradle (centre) and the RAK19007 box on standoffs (right), in black ASA.

Order status. The RAK19007 and T-Beam versions screw to the boards' published hole positions. Heltec does not publish the V4's board thickness or the edge of its screen bracket, so a Heltec V4 order starts with a free 5 g cradle coupon: snap your board in, tell us if it clicks, and we print your case to suit.

What does it look like in use?

Renders are computer images of our own design, made from the same model we print. This family is made to order: real photos of our first prints are coming.

Safety & use

Installation & use. Designed for the uses described on this page only. Fixings are not included: use the sizes listed, check they are tight before use, and check the parts regularly for wear or damage. Not for safety-critical or overhead load-bearing use. Damage caused by misuse, modification or overloading isn't a fault in the product.

Electronics. This is a plastic enclosure with no electrical function. Boards, batteries, panels, cables and antennas are your own: fit and use them to their makers' instructions. Lithium cells must be fitted, charged and protected to their maker's instructions.

Sealing. Designed for an O-ring face seal; not tested to an IP rating.

FAQ

Common questions

Which boards do the cases fit?

Three versions: the Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 (V4) in a snap-in cradle, the RAK WisBlock Base RAK19007 on four standoffs at its official hole positions, and the LilyGO T-Beam (V1.x board outline) on four 22 mm standoffs. For the Heltec V3 see our original mesh node case; the V3 cradle does not fit the V4, which is 1.5 mm longer and has a screen bracket.

Does it come with the solar panel, battery or electronics?

No. The price is for the printed ASA parts only. Board, 18650 cell and holder, solar panel, antenna, O-ring, gland, SMA pigtail, inserts and screws are not included; the sizes are listed in the specifications.

What size solar panel fits the lid?

The Heltec V4 and RAK19007 lid takes a panel up to 80 x 55 x 3 mm, and the T-Beam lid up to 60 x 110 x 3 mm, with 0.5 mm clearance each side. Tell us your panel size and we set the frame to it. The panel cable goes in through the PG7 gland.

How does it mount on a pole?

The bracket screws to four inserts under the case. Two V-blocks sit on a 20-50 mm pole and take zip ties or hose clamps through their strap tunnels; the case hangs with the antenna port on top. Two keyholes let you screw the bracket to a wall instead.

Is it waterproof?

It is designed for an O-ring face seal, with the lid screws and bracket inserts outside the seal line and gland and bulkhead ports, but it has not been tested to an IP rating, so we do not claim one.

Why does the Heltec V4 version need a fit coupon?

Heltec publishes the V4's outline (51.7 x 25.4 x 10.7 mm) but not its board thickness or where the screen bracket meets the board edge, and the snap tabs grip that edge. The free 5 g coupon is just the cradle: snap your board in, and we adjust the tab height before printing your case.

How do I order?

Use Get a quote and choose Request a quote, naming the board version, box + lid or the 3-part set, and your panel size. We confirm the price and lead time before anything is printed.
