SO-101 robot arm printed part sets (follower, leader, pair) for the LeRobot open-source arm

The SO-101 is the open-source 6-axis arm that Hugging Face LeRobot uses for imitation learning: a follower arm the robot moves and a leader arm a person holds to teach it. We print the complete structural set from the official Apache-2.0 release in our Melbourne workshop and ship in 3 to 5 business days, so a lab or classroom can go from order to a working arm in about a week with a standard STS3215 servo kit from a Seeed Studio or Waveshare reseller. The WaveShare driver-board mounting plate is standard; ask for the Seeed Studio XIAO plate if your kit uses that board. Printed parts only: no servos, boards, cables, power supplies or screws.

From A$44.95Made to order Studio renders, real photos coming

From A$44.95 for the follower or leader set in PLA Matte. Printed to order in Melbourne and shipped Australia-wide; we confirm the final price and lead time before anything is printed.

On the quote page choose Request a quote (no file needed) and name this part and the option you want.

Standard pieces and colours are also sold at a fixed price in the shop. This page is for other sizes, materials, custom text and bulk quotes.

Render of the 11 black 3D printed SO-101 follower arm parts laid out on a studio floor: base, shoulder, upper arm, under arm, wrist, motor holders, jaw and mounting plate
Studio render: made to order, real photos coming: render from the official SO-101 files, labelled as such; photos of our test prints follow the first fit check.

Order status. Prices are per set; standard shipping is A$10 Australia-wide on formada3d.com retail orders (free over A$100) and quoted on business invoices. Servo kits are not included; we can point you to the standard 12-servo kit from local resellers. Pictures are renders from the official files until the photos of our first test prints land.

What does it look like in use?

Renders are computer images of our own design, made from the same model we print. This family is made to order: real photos of our first prints are coming.

Who it's for

University robotics labs, TAFE and school STEM programs, LeRobot researchers and integrators who want the arm's structure sourced locally with a fixed lead time instead of a 2 to 4 week import.

Safety & use

Installation & use. Designed for the uses described on this page only. Fixings are not included: use the sizes listed, check they are tight before use, and check the parts regularly for wear or damage. Not for safety-critical or overhead load-bearing use. Damage caused by misuse, modification or overloading isn't a fault in the product.

Moving machinery. A powered arm can pinch and can move unexpectedly during calibration. Keep hands, hair and cables clear, power it from the supply the servo maker specifies, and never leave it running unattended. Not for safety-critical or load-bearing use.

Printed parts only. No electrical function; wiring, servo limits and calibration are the builder's responsibility under the LeRobot documentation. PLA softens above about 55 degrees C: keep the arm away from heaters and direct sun.

This doesn't affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

FAQ

Common questions

Do you supply the servos or a complete kit?

No. We print and supply the structural parts. The standard 12-servo motor kit (without printed parts) is sold by Seeed Studio resellers in Australia; we can quote an assembled arm on request if you supply the kit.

Which revision do you print?

The current official SO-101 STL release. The upstream commit is on the packing slip, and we say on this page when we move to a newer one.

Can you print a class set?

Yes. 5+ pairs -5 %, 10+ pairs -10 %, with an invoice and purchase order. Lead time for ten pairs is about one week.

PETG-CF or PLA?

PLA Matte is what the project recommends and is fine for a desk arm. PETG-CF is stiffer and more stable for arms that run all day or get handled by many students; it is quoted on request because the filament costs more.

Do you assemble arms?

Quote on request: send us the servo kit or have it delivered here and we assemble and calibrate. Assembly labour is quoted per arm.

How do I order?

Single sets at the fixed price: buy in our shop. Class sets, PETG-CF or an invoice: use Get a quote and choose Request a quote, naming the set (follower, leader, pair), quantity, colour and mounting plate. We confirm price and lead time before printing.
