X-series-size smart servo base for 2020 extrusion, PETG (fits ROBOTIS XL430-W250)
A printed base that fixes a 28.5 x 46.5 x 34 mm smart servo to 2020 aluminium extrusion or any 20 mm hole grid. The servo stands on a 4 mm plate held by four screws in its 16 x 12 mm bottom pattern, counterbored from below, and two 3 mm cheeks take two more screws in each side face's lower pair. The cheeks stop below the cable connectors and two M5 slots 60 mm apart fix it to the rail. Every hole position comes from the servo maker's published drawing and STEP model, and the base was clash-checked against that model. Printed to order in our Melbourne workshop; a free screw coupon comes first.
From A$8 for the one base (order minimum). Printed to order in Melbourne and shipped Australia-wide; we confirm the final price and lead time before anything is printed.
On the quote page choose Request a quote (no file needed) and name this part and the option you want.

Order status. All hole positions come from the servo maker's drawing and STEP model. The drawing does not name the screw for the 2.1 mm case holes, so the free coupon checks how M2.5 self-tapping screws bite before your base is printed.
What does it look like in use?
Renders are computer images of our own design, made from the same model we print. This family is made to order: real photos of our first prints are coming.

Who it's for
TurtleBot3 and OpenMANIPULATOR-X owners, university robotics labs and makers who want a smart servo on 2020 extrusion without buying a metal frame set.
Safety & use
Installation & use. Designed for the uses described on this page only. Fixings are not included: use the sizes listed, check they are tight before use, and check the parts regularly for wear or damage. Not for safety-critical or overhead load-bearing use. Damage caused by misuse, modification or overloading isn't a fault in the product.
Robots. Powered joints can pinch and move unexpectedly. Keep fingers, hair and cables clear while powered, check the full range of motion by hand after fitting, and use the screw lengths listed on this page. PETG softens near 70 degrees C. A printed bracket is for hobby, education, research and prototype loads.
Load. This part carries servo torque. Use the servo's torque limit and the stated screw lengths, and use metal brackets for production machines.

Common questions
Which servos does it fit?
The ROBOTIS XL430-W250, whose drawing and STEP model we used. Other X-series servos with the same 28.5 x 46.5 x 34 mm body may share the hole pattern; check the drawing for yours or send us a link.
How is the servo held?
Four screws in the 16 x 12 mm pattern on the bottom face and two in the lower pair of each side face. The cheeks stop 13.25 mm up so they stay below the cable connectors.
Which screws do I need?
8 x M2.5 x 6 self-tapping screws and 2 x M5 x 10 with T-nuts, not included. Never use longer case screws: the holes are 4.0 mm deep at most, and the base leaves 3.45 mm of thread in them.
Is it a Dynamixel frame?
No. It is our own Dynamixel-style printed base that fits the XL430's published screw pattern. It is not a ROBOTIS part.
